Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lids just broke off!!! I bought this 45 gallon roughneck from HomeDepot a couple of years ago. Always had issues with the lid closing correctly. Then I noticed cracks and it would let water in when it rained. The other day it just snapped right off the hinges and cracked in half. I have it taped on just in case it rains or snows. But a replacement lid is $14 for something that shouldnt of broke!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a very rigid design Only about 4 years, and it couldn't take no more. Really try not to over load the cans as it is since our town only has one collection crew manually picking lifting is at their discretion. Think its just a flimsy design, and I wont get started on the lid since everyone has already trampled that complaint.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Trash Can...If lid stayed on! I bought this about two months ago..garbage men lost the lid after only about six weeks. Have looked for lids in all department stores and there is none available.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The trash can is ok but the lids are the worst I brought these a little over a month ago and they don't seem durable at all. I was very shocked that this trash can was called "ROUGHNECK". The actual can is not that bad but the Lids are the worst I ever seen. First off the lids constantly come off the hinges when you open or close them (real flimsy). Secondly I have two big hole in each lid from a little squirrel . Are you kidding me a squirrel can chew threw the lid of a so called Roughneck trash can? Rubbermaid really needs to correct this or discontinue this can. I would not recommend this trash can if your using it outside. Probably would work fine in a inside function hall. But then again maybe not if there are mouses around because they migh chew through it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Trash can is fine but the lid is TERRIBLE I've owned this trash can for several months. A few months ago I realized something chewed through my lid, I was a little annoyed because the trash can's are supposed to be durable and made for the outdoors. I purchased a new lid at Home Depot last week for $14.00 and just noticed the new lid has been chewed through again and I watched it happen. A squirrel was able to eat right through it and get into my trash. That build to last sticker is laughable...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from lost top This is a fine trash container, but the top does NOT stay attached, regardless of how you try to get it to it hook back on once it's detached itself. I have noticed other people on my street who also have the same cans with lids that are no longer attached, so I know it is not an isolated problem. The garbage truck ran over and destroyed mine, so now I'm stuck with a perfectly good trash can that gets filled with water every time it rains! At the very least, you should be able to get replacement lids, which I'd be more than willing to due. There is no reason to have to purchase another can to replace what was probably only a year or so old, and in perfect condition, but missing a lid!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Roughneck? NO...more like fragile After just one year it sprang a leak so that liquid near the bottom leaks out the back onto the ground.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke after first use I bought this trash can about 1 week ago. It looked great but felt a little flimsy. Decided still to buy it because it was rubbermaid so it should hold up. After the first use the handle has started cracking where it attaches to the can. Would not purchase again. Have pictures but they will not load for some reason.
