30 Gal Roughneck Non-Wheeled Trash Can is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great size and shape, super long-lasting We have had 6 of these for 20 years now. They started out as trash cans and withstood normal wear and tear plus the occasional marauding critter. For the past 12 years they have been used to haul fire wood. We load up each can, then haul the very heavy can up the stairs to our deck. Besides being heavy, the wood is of course hard, rough, and has pointy corners. When hauling 30 gallons of solid wood, it's hard to be gentle with the cans. Only one of the 6 has any cracking, easily repaired with duct tape. We plan to get 2 more, to give ourselves even more capacity to store wood. The lids fit well, but they do not seem to be made of material that is as strong as the can itself. Nevertheless, these are excellent cans for a much better price than many cans of lesser quality. Just wish they were easier to find at more retailers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bin - hoping for green lids soon I live in Brooklyn and share garbage cans with neighbors. These are great outdoor bins, as they are slender you can arrange 3 in a row with out taking up too much space. The tops are designed so that they do not collect water which is very smart in mosquito prevention. The lids snap on securely without any issues and they are easy to use for my elderly neighbors as well. They are also very quite when using, no clanging around of lids, etc. I do wish the lids were the same color as the bins. The lids get dirty and the tan shows the dirt very easily. An all green design would be aesthetically better, who wants to draw more attention to garbage!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not so great! I bought a set of 6 of these a few years ago. I have been extremely disappointed in their quality. The lids almost disintegrate over time (None of the 6 are usable now) and the barrels themselves, although much stronger than the lids, are not very good. I know that Rubbermaid has changed hands over the years. I have found that few of the current products are as good as the old ones. It is too bad because I have always been willing to spend more for higher quality. Such is not the case with these barrels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy and space saving I have 4 of these that I bought more than 20 years ago to keep horse and chicken feed in. They are opened twice daily and are starting to show some signs of wear. I love them because they line up along a wall in my feed room and keep it neat and tidy. They take up so much less space than round cans. The only downfall is they're hard to find.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Space Saver We've had 3 of these on our back porch for a number of years. They fit compactly in our area and are not too heavy to carry. Unfortunately squirrels chewed through the lid on the one we keep bird food in. We were able to order a new lid through the Rubbermaid website. By the way, the model number is printed inside the lid, 2749.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Firewood container I've had a wood stove for over 20 years and 2 of these containers for almost a long. In the winter I fill them with firewood at my woodpile then drag them (They slide easily in the snow.) up onto my deck and set them outside next to the door. On the very cold days I pull the container inside the door onto the mat, remove a few logs, then set it back outside. The wood lasts 1-1/2 days. The covers keep the rain and snow out and the bugs in.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good but not quite. Have had three cans for a few years, all tops were damaged and unable to replace the Roughneck is a good name for the container but the tops not so much.
