FreshWorks™ Produce Saver

Keep Produce Fresher Longer* with the Rubbermaid FreshWorks 2.5 Cup Produce Saver. Revolutionary FreshVent technology creates an optimal environment for fruits and vegetables by regulating the flow of oxygen and carbon dioxide in and out of the produce container. The CrispTray at the bottom of the food container elevates produce away from moisture and promotes airflow to help prevent spoilage. The built-in lid filter never needs to be replaced and will last a lifetime. Longer lasting produce means fewer trips to the grocery store.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from They don't work We've been eating more fresh fruit and vegetables the last few months, and I don't like throwing out food. I bought several of these (a set of them plus some additiobal ones) hoping they would keep our fresh food good for longer than the store containers. They are bulkier than my other storage containers, but I attributed that to the stay fresh technology. Last weekend I bought our usual amount of fruits and veggies and put them in the containers as directed. Yesterday, my lettuce was completely brown and the watermelon had already turned bad. This morning I noticed the grapes have mold all over them and the cantaloupe has white spots on it. Now I've got to throw all that food out. Our food stayed fresher for longer in the store containers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed I purchased the 2.5 and 11.1 cup containers primarily for storing strawberries and tomatoes. According to the directions, I did not wash the produce before putting in the containers. By day 2 the berries were already going bad. So I tried again with another batch and the same thing happened only more quickly. It seemed as if the moisture in the container accelerated the growth of mold. The first time I used the 11.1 cup container for tomatoes, it did the job well; the next time, no such luck. The tomatoes went bad within a few days. I'm very disappointed as I had high hopes for these products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the containers I have all the sizes and use them all the time, really helps to keep strawberries and blueberrys, etc. fresh longer. Just noticed they know have a 24.5 cup container would love to purchase a couple of them but they are out of stock and I haven't been able to find anyone selling them. When will these 24.5 containers be available?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps produce fresher, longer. I own two of every size, except for the 24.5 Cup Extra Large Produce Saver, which I did not know existed until now. It's a great product and really does keep my fresh fruit and vegetables fresher longer. I recently purchased the lower long one and the smaller version for items like asparagus, cucumbers etc., I use them for other produce too, since they are lower I can stack more in my fridge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best berry containers ever! We bought two small size containers at a "homegoods" store. We use a great number of berries in our house and thought these might help avoid mold and berry loss. These have been EXCELLENT!!! Berries are plumper than when they go in container...just wonderful! Since we started using these containers for berries, we have had only one berry that was bad. (Out of thousands of berries that have been in and out of our 3 small and one medium sized Fresh container) OUR KEY TO USING FRESH: Read directions! We put berries in unwashed. We wash them before use. To avoid losing green grate, we assemble containers as soon as the are washed and dried. That was they are ready to go when berries are brought in. For lettuce (well we use a spring mix) we find the largest one works well and extends life of these tender greens. We even observed the difference between in the container greens to ones left in plastic container from store. We had to toss green from store but got two weeks of fresh greens from our FRESH container. Do not wash or cut greens before use. Extra moisture = extra chance for mold. Small tomatoes do great in container but not in refrigerator as tomatoes should not be kept cold. We place the filled FRESH containers (berries and greens) in the crisper on the vegetable setting. One proble we encountered - we dropped a full container from the counter level and the side cracked all the way. Sad. We threw out the o bottle m but saved lid and grate - just in case. Do you sell replacement bottoms? We find that FRESH is hard to find at stores - but the search is worth it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Used once - Not great - lost tray - Now Worthless Used this for lettuce ... did not see a big difference in ability to keep fresh ... after a few days; threw out the lettuce ... washed container, lid, and tray ... somehow misplaced tray and without tray this simply becomes a very expensive storage container!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not good I bought this thinking it would help keep my produce longer. It didn't keep my lettuce any longer than a regular plastic bowl with lid. I don't use them at all.
