Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great to keep the gang hydrated - but lid flew off Love the size and the fact that it keeps the contents cold. It isn’t our first cooler, but just like the last one, on a windy day, the lid flew off! Just really disapointed that we have to buy a whole new cooler since the lids arr almost impossible to find or extremely high priced. Hold on to your lids people!!!! I would recommend this is the lids where made inna way that they would stay on securely.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Water Jug lid Problem I've had a Rubbermaid 10 gallon water jug for over a year and this summer coming back from a hunting trip the lid blew off. I would like to buy a replacement lid. Why doesn't Rubbermaid provide lids as a separate item?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great water cooler except... I can't believe this! I am not the only one who has had their lid fly off! All I can figure is the wind blows across the divots or channels in the top of the lid creating the winds ability to unscrew it. I wonder how many rubbermaid cooler lids are lying along our highways and byways! LOL.. Can't I just buy a simple lid??

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Cooler Except for the Lid We use these coolers to keep our band kids hydrated. On the way to a competition, the lid blew off of one of the coolers. I can't believe the a new lid costs over $40 on Amazon. I guess people are just buying new coolers and selling of the pieces for a huge profit. Why can't we buy a replacement direct?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Another Request for Replacement Lids We bought 20 of these for our bicycling club and in two years, have seen six lids lost. They are fine if transported inside a vehicle but in the wind, the lids come off and fly away. I'm disappointed that Rubbermaid has not modified the design after many reports of lost lids and also doesn't offer a lid replacement option.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lid falls off I bought this, put some ice and about 5 gallons of water. I tied it up to my work truck and half of the water spilled... the next day the lid flew off!!! This products' only flaw is the lid.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Junk- won't hold water, as it splashes out! I bought this new, filled with water, tied the lid on, as it only tightens poorly 1/4 turn. I tied it upright in the back of the truck, drove 10 miles on a bumpy road, and had a wet truck bed and 5 gallons of water left. The lid then blew off on the way home because I didn't tie it. I called customer service, and Kim told me the jug was not designed to go in the back of a truck. SO I guess she wants me to haul it inside the cab and get the upholstery and carpet wet. The photo on the jug label in the store has a man and a boy fishing on the beach- you can bet they will have to drink salt water if the road was bumpy, because all their water is gonna splash out on the drive down. Don't buy this unless you are going to set it on a picnic table and fill with a hose, because if you carry it the contents will end up on your shirt and trousers. Not up to the caliber of other Rubbermaid products!!! They should be embarrassed to sell it!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from another lid problem I was sad to see that Rubbermaid could NOT sell me a replacement lid. WHY NOT? The lid design made it hard to tighten. My lid loosened and flew off while in transport. Glad to see I am not the only person having lid objections. Otherwise a good product.
