Rated 2 out of 5 by from FELL OFF COUNTER TOP FULL OF PURPLE DRINK MIX THIS PICTURE WAS A CHRISTMAS GIFT, 2017. I REALLY LIKED IT USING IT DAILY FOR DRINK MIX. NEVER REALLY HAD A PROBLEM UNTIL IT FELL OFF THE COUNTERTOP AND HOLY HECK PURPLE DRINK EVERYWHERE.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Product Used it three times and now it leaks and cannot be made to stop no matter how much time I spend messing with it. I should have read some reviews before I bought this piece of worthless junk. Why are you still even selling this product when 75% of the reviews say the same exact thing ... it leaks. Even giving it a one-star rating feels wrong. I'd rather give it zero stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from These aren’t that hard to clean! We have two of these (1 gallon version) that we’ve used for over a year for Sweet Tea (the house wine of the South) made with pure, uncut Stevia. One of the big factors for us is that we can fit two of these side-by-side on our refrigerator door. Yes, the lids leave something to be desired. We often have to pour sideways because the lid doesn’t always point forward when tightened enough to not leak. I find that disappointing, I’ve seen many vessels with fixed, mold-resistant gaskets that are problem-free, and am surprised that Rubbermaid settled for this. I’m looking for a better gasket in my copious free time, and will probably sell them to owners of this pitcher when I do (since RM doesn’t sell any parts for these). CLEANING THE LID: Yes, the design of the lid promotes mold growth in environments where mold is common, particularly if the humid South. However, cleaning this isn’t difficult—pull out the gasket and clean it and the underside of the lid with a small cleaning brush (or a toothbrush), hot water and dish soap. If it’s gotten particularly bad, the same solution used below for the pitcher body will do the trick. CLEANING THE BODY: It’s an unfortunate truth that ANY plastic jug used to store things like tea, coffee, or other strongly colored drinks will discolor quickly, and pitchers left unrefrigerated are a free pool party for mold. Contrary to what some Hi k, there are brushes that are made for cleaning this sort of pitcher—even inside the handle. In our case, we’ve developed a process that’s quick, easy and brushless: 1. Pour about 1/2 cup of chlorine bleach into the empty pitcher. 2. Follow with about 2cups of hot water. 3. Screw the lid on TIGHT. 4. With one hand on the top keeping the spout closed and one hand on the bottom, shake the pitcher as hard as you can to agitate the solution and help it reach the entire inside surface. If there are still stains visible after a few minutes, turn the pitcher so that the solution covers the stain, agitating gently. DO NOT let the bleach sit in the jug any longer than necessary. 5. When the inside stains are gone, remove the lid and carefully pour the solution down the drain. 6. Rinse several times with clear water, using the same agitation methods used above. 7. Fill the pitcher about 1/3 full with hot water, add a good squirt of dish detergent, replace the lid tightly and shake for a couple of minutes. 8. Rinse thoroughly to remove the detergent. HINT: If you put clear water in the pitcher and shake it, you shouldn’t see ant foam or suds. 9. Drain, wipe dry and admire your handiwork. We do this every week or so, whenever I notice the need. It works for us!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How To Clean I have two of these...one for tea, one for water. I have no issue whatsoever with the construction of the lids. I have had both of these for 10 years now. To clean the tea Gallon, which expectantly gets stained, I boil 1 gallon of water to fill the container, but first I add approx 1 cup of non- chlorine bleach...the whitening agent here is Hydrogen Peroxide, which is not toxic or harmful. I do this in the morning and empty & clean out when I get home from work. Works perfect.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from UNCLEANABLE This is an awful product. It's impossible to clean, at least by hand. It took only a couple of times making iced tea in it to leave dark spots in places that cannot be reached. Truly disappointing, for any price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Same cleaning issues and leaking problems I have had 5 of these, 3 currently in use. They all have the same problems. Impossible to clean the handles. The tops leak. I contacted customer support THREE YEARS AGO and was told they would LOOK INTO THE LEAKING ISSUE and I could use a bottle brush on the handle. Obviously they have done nothing about the leaking and nobody in customer support has actually used a bottle brush in their life. I have solved most of my cleaning issues. I finally found a cleaning brush on eBay from China that is VERY long and can reach down inside the handle but it is a struggle. I also fill the container 1/3 full of ice and shake it to remove stains and mold/mildew every week or so.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like the pitchers, but the gaskets... I have two, but on one of them the gasket fell out (somewhere) and now I can't use it because it leaks terribly. I tried to get a replacement gasket on the website, but it says no replacement parts are available. A disappointment since there's no reason to throw away the pitcher, but if you can't get a replacement gasket it's semi-useless.
