Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk! I bought this today for a work storage for towels and aprons.... it doesn't even snap together and came in a sealed box from Home Depot- no instructions but this is a piece of trash. It won't function indoors and be "water tight" or even snap together correctly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Falls apart When trying to assemble this box it was obvious the base was damaged from the mold with a ripple on one end, also the pins on the side walls do not line up properly. The walls have gaps and won't stay together, Nothing lines up correctly not even the holes for the lock. I am very disappointed...You pay more for Rubbermaid products expecting higher quality, I will definitely think twice before buying your product again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Brand new, seems defective I have the same issue as other users, the display model at the store shows perfectly closed, 'water resistant' in a way. The one I bought, sealed in box, is clearly not. I bought this for my BBQ equipment, it seems like tons of critters will be getting in through the large gaps.....

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Parts do not fit I bought this a few days ago and the pieces do not fit together properly you can see daylight where the parts should fit together. there was a puncture hole in one side and the top doesn't close its off by inch or more. The whole thing is warped, junk.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Time consuming to assemble. This is a nice storage box. Far from water proof. It is a nice size and will hold numerous patio accessories. Not close to the same quality of the old Rubbermaid products. It appears they have have adopted the philosophy price is more important than quality. Rubbermaid use to be a world class company with best in market products. I can't get over the assembly process for this chest. It is necessary to take a hammer and screw driver, per instructions, and beat our eight plugs in the base of the chest. This takes at least 20 minutes and should have been performed during the manufacturing process. Additionally, there is no pre-drilling where the holes to attach the straps (cheap) which are needed to be mounted to prevent the top from falling backwards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Sturdy and not THAT hard to assemble! Sheesh I'm incredibly pleased with this deck box! Yeah, I know, no instruction sheet but the assembly diagram is on the box if you just look at it carefully! I did put the bottom upside down at first, but when stuff didn't line up it was a no-brainer to flip the bottom over. It is SO sturdy and holds a ton of yard stuff. Makes the whole yard look better and can double as a serving area as it's right next to the grill. It also supports two adults as a bench with no bowing or bending whatsoever. Also very easy to clean after someone cleaned the eaves right over the top of it. Very satisfied with this box. I've owned it for over 3 years.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from How does the lid go on? The instructions for this are atrocious. I was able to put the structure floor and walls together fairly easily, but the instructions for putting the lid on are baffling. I don't want to start hammering anything, but from what I can tell from the instructions you're supposed to hammer a thick plastic pin through a smaller hole, but with no leverage? I looked on YouTube but all the "instructional" videos are just pictures of the piece Since it's just a simple piece of paper, you'd think they'd spend a little more time making the instructions understandable

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Should have come here first Bought this at a Home Depot in Hawaii after doing lots of comparison at Sears and local garden stores. First problem was there was no instructions in the box (new box with shrink wrap, sealed). I, too, as one reviewer above figured "how can I go wrong - don't need instructions for a box". Assembled it based on intuition but found hinge pins don't fit without forcing and sides/back/front won't interlock. Open the lid and the sides pull out. Then looked on line for instructions. And, same as another reviewer above, found the instructions on line but the print was blurry (believe it was for a discontinued model). Then found the "revised" instructions based on a Rubbermaid response to the complaint. Turned out I went wrong by having the floor upside down; none of the pieces locked in and there were gaps in the sides. Plus, no straps for the lid included in the box. I am about to return it, (I always keep boxes til I'm satisfied with a product!) but glad I at least looked for the mfr's web page. So, I'll get it back out and try again...but it sure would have been easier if Rubbermaid quality control had been on the ball before it was shipped.
