Rated 1 out of 5 by from What am I missing? I recently purchased two deck boxes (5F21 and 5F22). I'm having the same problem with both boxes: while the pieces in each kit fit together easily, there is nothing to hold each piece in place - the pieces don't lock in place nor are there any pins. Consequently, the slightest bit of pressure causes the entire box to collapse like a house of cards! What am I missing?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice Storage Box, Nice Look, Poor Lid Design I bought the box to hold pool equipment (nets, hoses, brushes, toys etc.) The bonus is people can sit on it yet, nobody has. Looks nice and blends in. When my kids opened the lid, the straps that stop it from opening too far came apart where the small screw attaches the strap to the lid and the frame. As soon as the straps broke, one of the plastic hinges broke. Well, I can fix the straps and if I could buy hinges, I could fix the box. Without new hinges, (molded to fit) my nice looking almost new box is useless. Should have made better quality hinges with heavier hinges and hinge bodies.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor hinge design and too many gaps The biggest problem for me is trying to get the posts (for the hinges) on the bottom side through small holes for the hinges on the cover. I cannot hammer hard enough. Also, I am worried that bugs and mice may squeeze through the gaps between the sides. No problems putting the sides up. Put the side of the bottom that has the writing on it facing the ground. It feels weird because the cover and the sides all have the writing facing inside.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk! I bought this today for a work storage for towels and aprons.... it doesn't even snap together and came in a sealed box from Home Depot- no instructions but this is a piece of trash. It won't function indoors and be "water tight" or even snap together correctly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Falls apart When trying to assemble this box it was obvious the base was damaged from the mold with a ripple on one end, also the pins on the side walls do not line up properly. The walls have gaps and won't stay together, Nothing lines up correctly not even the holes for the lock. I am very disappointed...You pay more for Rubbermaid products expecting higher quality, I will definitely think twice before buying your product again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Brand new, seems defective I have the same issue as other users, the display model at the store shows perfectly closed, 'water resistant' in a way. The one I bought, sealed in box, is clearly not. I bought this for my BBQ equipment, it seems like tons of critters will be getting in through the large gaps.....

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Parts do not fit I bought this a few days ago and the pieces do not fit together properly you can see daylight where the parts should fit together. there was a puncture hole in one side and the top doesn't close its off by inch or more. The whole thing is warped, junk.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Time consuming to assemble. This is a nice storage box. Far from water proof. It is a nice size and will hold numerous patio accessories. Not close to the same quality of the old Rubbermaid products. It appears they have have adopted the philosophy price is more important than quality. Rubbermaid use to be a world class company with best in market products. I can't get over the assembly process for this chest. It is necessary to take a hammer and screw driver, per instructions, and beat our eight plugs in the base of the chest. This takes at least 20 minutes and should have been performed during the manufacturing process. Additionally, there is no pre-drilling where the holes to attach the straps (cheap) which are needed to be mounted to prevent the top from falling backwards.
