Having a hard time finding what you need in the morning? Your closets may be overstuffed with out-of-season items that get in your way. Use this handy checklist to always keep your closet in season and in style. It shouldn't take long and it will save you a lot of time getting ready in the morning.
Sort through your wardrobe at the end of each season, and get rid of things you didn't wear. Give them to friends or donate them to Goodwill or Salvation Army.
Repair items that need mending, if these items are out of the regular rotation.
Sort through the types of clothing and keep all the categories together, like blouses, sweaters, pants, skirts, etc.
Wash clothes before storing them away and make sure there are no stains that could set in over the next few months.
Store out-of-season clothing in containers in another part of the house, so your closet has only what you need. (If you don't have room anywhere else, move out-of-season clothing to the back or top of your closet.)
Keep stored clothing loosely folded and avoid stuffing containers until they're full. Leave a little extra room so you don't create any permanent creases.
Label all containers of out of season clothing, so they're easy to find again next year.
