Handle breakage needs to be addressed. Obviously.
We had 3 of these baskets about a year-and-a-half before the handles started cracking. Being handy I cut some pieces of pipe and pop riveted them in place of the handles which seems to work very well. If Rubbermaid put some kind of reinforcement in there it would never have been a single problem with the handles on these and it would last for years. Rubbermaid obviously needs to address the handle breakage issue as nearly every single customer has complained of it. I will not be buying another set of these again, we are in the market for some and unfortunately Rubbermaid is not being considered.

Great Design!
I have six of these baskets that I purchased about 15 years. The handles have broken on all six. I love the shape and want to purchase new baskets. I hope that the design of the handles has been improved.

Breaks easily
I bought 2 of these. The handles broke off within a month. After the handles breaking, the sides started to crack and tear down the side. I am looking for a laundry basket that doesn't break.

Nice design, poor durability
I have always liked Rubbermaid products. This laundry basket is a clever design but unfortunately the handles crack and break off.

My handles broke off too.
At first, I loved this ergonomicly designed basket. Then the right handle seemed to be unstable. It had a hairline crack. Then it fell off. Soon the left handle cracked, too. The only remaining handle is the one on the long side--opposite my hip. Those handles were an intrical part of the basket. Without them, there is no rigidity to the shape of the basket. This product is less than a year old! I expected it to last a lot longer.

Great Design, Not-so Great Durability
I am confused by the other reviews highlighting the durability resulting in 5-9 years of use when my handles broke within 5 years! The basket was never loaded with heavy wet clothes, only dry ones, and all the handles still broke! Not just the one for carrying the basket on the hip, all the handles!
BTW, I had a previous model many years ago that was all but indestructible. The handles were a much better design, thicker and not molded so thin and masked by a snap-on handle.

well made, but too small
Sturdy and well made, but doesn't easily hold a full load of laundry for a large-capacity machine. Rubbermaid says it holds 2.1 bushels, but it fits inside a steralite-brand 2-bushel basket with room to spare (the flimsy steralite baskets crack and break easily, though).
