Not only does this cooler hold my standard purchase of 6 twelve paks plus ice, but when not partying, it doubles as my patio end table. The height is perfect to hold drinks without fear of spilling. There's still enough room to place a small plate in the middle. Also, I store picnic plates, cups, etc plus candles, etc right in the empty cooler. The cooler keeps me ready for a quiet intimate patio evening, too.

15 yr old version keeps going
I have had a unit almost exactly like this one but without cup-holders for 15 years. I have used it to move household goods several times ( i know I shouldn't), camped dozens of times, carried oily car parts in it etc. It cleans out great no smells...a little stained nowadays. The best part was I just bought a similar sized cooler from a 'large camping mfg' and took both on the same camp trip and hands down the rubbermaid works better... still actually had ice in it when we packed to leave (3 day trip, 80 degrees), the other did not. By chance the food was packed into the rubbermaid. Durability has not been an issue everything is intact like new, handles hinges etc. No I'm not in any way affiliated with these guys just impressed. Now looking for a second larger version to replace the other mfg's product I just purchased.:(

Not as good as they used to make them
Maybe I got a defective one but this thing does not keep anything frozen or cold for a long time. They used to be quality but this one the handle broke day one and the lock snapped when opening..not quality or the usual rubbermaid quality to me.
