Classic Pitchers is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cover difficult to use. I have bought many of the 1/2 gal. pitchers in the past. I even bought the new semi-clear type when there was concern about BPAs in the plastic. I had no problem with using the top to open and close the container in the old style. I would just turn the cover to the opening to pour out the liquid, then turn it back to close. Recently I noticed the design change of the cover when I bought 2 of the gallon size pitchers It fits further down in the pitcher, with little "tabs" that slide into slots when you close the lid. With this design, I have to lift the cover up to turn to the opening to pour. I find it difficult to grasp the cover to lift it up, then turn it to open, so I can pour the liquid out. If the lid had more of a grip in the center, it might help. I am not a fan of the new design. I do like the wide opening because I can clean the pitcher easier than the narrow opening pitchers that you have. Also, I have bought many Rubbermaid over the years. I usually have few problems with the products.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Makes iced tea taste funny The pitcher adds an odd flavor to tea, even after being thoroughly washed in the dishwasher. The aftertaste is hard to describe but makes sweet tea undrinkable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Go back to the REAL Classic Pitchers! My mother has 2 of your 1 gallon pitchers that she uses for iced tea. The ones she has are both tan in color with a white top. She has been looking for another as her old ones are getting a little stained after all the years of wonderful service. Unfortunately it sounds like the new "Classic Pitchers" simply do not live up to the originals. The clear/frosted plastic is a terrible idea and the handles do not extend all the way to the bottom as her originals do. Clearly the new design is not living up to the high standards we Rubbermaid fans have come to expect over the years. Quit doing things on the cheap and go back to the original design and quality. Then you will have another customer here and I am sure many more happy customers who will buy even more Rubbermaid products. Remember...QUALITY COUNTS!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed with pitcher I purchased two of these at Canadian Tire, one to hold room temperature water and one to put in the refridgerator for cold water. Both after several washes still leave a very bad taste to the water and there is a distinct odour from the jugs. Not what we expected from a Rubbermaid product. Very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Strong smell of Plastic I bought this today and started smelling the "plastic smell" in the car on the way home. I will be returning it as I don't want to have my Iced Tea infused with plastic smell. Disappointed as I have had two Rubbermaid Opaque Pitchers for years and one finally started to leak after nearly 20 years of pouring hot water into them to make Iced Tea.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad Taste Very bad taste, even to sugary iced tea, even after thoroughly washing it twice. I returned it. I have used the original classic Rubbermaid pitcher for years with no issues (the more solid, thicker, opaque plastic). This new plastic leaches I believe.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Plastic odor after months I got the classic 2 L pitcher months ago, and when I first got it there was a strong plastic smell/odor, which is to be expected. Washed it with soap and water, and even soaked in vinegar solution overnight. Smell / odor lingers to this day no matter how much I washed. I stored for a while and started to use again. No luck :-(
